In parenting, it’s said that the days pass slowly but the years fly by, that’s apparently true for businesses too!
It’s hard to believe that three years ago this week, Ben quit his job.
Yes, his full-time, regular paycheck job.
This was to join us on what we believed would be the adventure of a lifetime, a new kind of consulting company dedicated to keeping every fundraiser from putting their head through a windshield.

We started Team Kat & Mouse during the dark days of COVID-19.
We saw many nonprofits struggling to find new and creative ways to keep their fundraising relevant to their donors, sensitive to the changing needs of their broader community, and nimble in response to changing situations
We also recognized the need for training in general, as we witnessed what would come to be known as the "Great Resignation". Many who were not learning how to be successful fundraisers either left their organizations or left the sector completely.
So, two old friends who were also former colleagues joined forces to build a one-of-a-kind company, Team Kat & Mouse.
Our goal was to be able to support organizations by assembling a group of professionals, each with a specialty in a type of fund development.
We aimed to bring this expertise to nonprofits across the country so that their staff can be trained and developed into teams with varied expertise, ready to tackle any economic or other conditions that may come their way.
These teams can work together, exceed goals, become future leaders, and help their managers go home on time (at least once in a while).
Then, we collaborate on the tactics and tools you need to sustain success
SO, you always wanted to know more about Sharon, Amy, and Ben after all these years of reading our blogs??
Sharon spent 25 years in media and advertising sales and management before turning her skills into a decade-long career in nonprofit fundraising.
She has a passion for training and watching people grow and reach their potential.
Her fundraising magic powers are storytelling, corporate fundraising, and partnerships.
She also says she can get anyone on the phone and teach your team how to do that too!

Amy spent almost two decades building and leading fundraising teams.
Amy’s fundraising magic power is individual giving - working with donors to envision impact and working with organizations to identify the donors most likely to join them in imagining initiatives and change.
We aren’t kidding when we say that Amy can review your spreadsheets or CRM data and find the opportunities that you may have missed (and she can help you design your CRM structure too).
As you already know, Ben was the first addition to the Team Kat & Mouse Collective.
His career has included a wide range of nonprofit and public advocacy organizations serving as both a frontline fundraiser and grant writer.
These days, his favorite cause is researching, writing, and winning grants for our Team Kat & Mouse client partners (Ben’s magic power).
Want to hear about the $750,000 grant he won for trees- really cool trees!
So, we are happy to say, it has been 3 years since Ben took a leap of faith and we are so happy he did (and so are his many grant-writing clients).
Since those dark days of COVID-19, the business has grown and we have gotten to work with so many amazing client partners who have taught us so much.
